The PVPC works with several rural towns and communities in the region to improve municipal responses to domestic violence. All these projects are led by local taskforces that are facilitated by PVPC staff with expertise in the field of domestic violence. Taskforce projects focus primarily on improving the town or region's capacity to prevent and respond to domestic violence by working with police, health centers and hospitals, schools, local and county-wide service agencies, and community residents. The PVPC works with Hampden and Hampshire county domestic violence agencies and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to ensure collaboration and coordination of all regional efforts.
