Statewide Food System Plan Complete!

13 Jan 2016

In December 2015, the Massachusetts Food Policy Council formally accepted the final version of the statewide Local Food Action Plan. The plan presents goals, recommendations, and actions for all sectors of our state food system. The plan presents hundreds of ideas to increase the economic impact of Massachusetts farms and food businesses, and at the same time work to reduce the widespread hunger, epidemic obesity and poor health that result from poor nutrition in our state. The plan was produced by a planning team lead by the Boston Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) and included the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC), the Franklin Region Council of Governments (FRCOG), and the Massachusetts Workforce Alliance (MWA).
