The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission's professional staff of planners specializes in community development, economic development, environment and land use, regional information and policy, transportation and transit, historic preservation, municipal services, graphics and mapping, and Geographic Information System services. Under these broad areas, we provide an ever-expanding menu of services tailored to immediate local and regional needs with an eye toward the longer term and the larger context. Our approach is grounded in solid research and analysis applied in flexible and interdisciplinary fashion.

Current Projects

PVPC's Regional Municipal Accounting Program is a fee-for-service program that offers professional financial management services for the prudent and proper supervision of the financial affairs of Town's. Its goal is to discharge the duties contained in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 41, Sections 55 through 6 in the effort to assist municipalities enhance its municipal accounting functions and performance through an effective, practical, and functional regional program.

The Healthy Community Design Toolkit is an ongoing project of PVPC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health. It provides guidance about healthy community design to Mass in Motion coordinators, municipal staff and board members and local advocates across Massachusetts.
