Re-Greening Holyoke:  Urban Tree Planting Workshop #2

Thursday, March 2, 2017, 6-8PM

The City of Holyoke is in the process of re-greening its streets, and YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED!

Center Street (between Ely & Samosett), Newton Street (Cabot & Appleton), and High Street (between Essex & Appleton) will undergo streetscape improvements in coming years as part of the city’s efforts to revitalize downtown Holyoke and improve water quality in the Connecticut River. This is the second of two workshops for the public to weigh in on what these improvements will look like. Come and review preliminary designs for these streets and learn how street trees and green infrastructure can benefit both you and the environment’s health, make streets more comfortable and attractive, and even significantly reduce your energy bills!

Homeowners and renters, landowners, and business owners in downtown are especially encouraged to attend, but everyone throughout Holyoke with an interest in shaping green streets development in the city is welcome to participate! Free tree plantings are also available for property owners and renters (with landlord permission) in the downtown area – more information available at the workshop!
