Mayor Sarno and CDO Sheehan announce additional Community Input Survey and Meeting to Update Neighborhood Plans for Mason Square and Maple High-Six Corners

Springfield, MA – Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Chief Development Officer (CDO) Timothy Sheehan, Director of Disaster Recovery Tina Quagliato-Sullivan and Deputy Director of Neighborhood Services Ed Whitley announced today an additional opportunity for residents to participate in the planning process for the Mason Square (plus Maple High/Six Corners) Neighborhood Investment Plans.  All residents of the four Mason Square area neighborhoods (Bay, McKnight, Old Hill and Upper Hill) and Maple High-Six Corners are welcome and encouraged to participate.

An online survey for residents of the five targeted neighborhoods of Bay, McKnight, Old Hill, Upper Hill, and Maple High-Six Corners is available at the Neighborhood Investment Plan website: https://www.pvpc.org/spfld-nbhd-plans

The Mason Square plus Maple High/Six Corners resident neighborhood survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and is accessible in English and Spanish. The survey will remain open for responses through the end of April. Project updates and reports from previous community meetings can also be found on the project webpage, along with a timeline of the planning process and future opportunities to participate.

Additionally, there will be a neighborhood workshop meeting on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in the community room at Elias Brookings Apartments located at 367 Hancock St., from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.  Lunch and live Spanish translation will be provided.

Residents of the targeted neighborhoods are invited to the final in-person meeting to identify and lift-up needs and ideas for investment in these neighborhoods. Future meetings will focus on developing ideas into strategic actions and investment opportunities and then prioritizing proposed solutions.
