PVPC Seeks Community Development Intern

The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC) is currently accepting applications for an internship
position in the Community Development section of the PVPC. The responsibilities of this position may
include windshield surveys; income surveys; general data collection; data analysis; assessor, deed,
genealogical, and historical research; project photographs and related documentation; and assistance with
other community and historic preservation planning and documentation projects and proposed grant
applications as needed. In accomplishing this, it is expected that you will work roughly 10 - 15 hours per
week. Appropriate candidates include students in good standing who are ambitious, reliable, and have an
interest in the field of community development, regional planning, historic preservation, and cultural resource
planning. Ideal candidates should be available for spring and summer 2022, beginning April 1, going through
August 31, 2022. This position may continue through the fall at the discretion of the PVPC. This is a
temporary position, and there are no fringe benefits associated with it such as health insurance, paid vacation
or holiday time. You will accrue one hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked, but you cannot access any
accumulated sick time until after 90 days of work. The PVPC is currently following state guidelines regarding
COVID-19 protocols, and some time in the office will be required. A valid Massachusetts State Driver’s
License as well as a good driving record is required. Strong computer skills are desirable. The typical
starting pay for this position is $15.00 per hour. Interested candidates should provide a brief letter of interest
