Transit Internship

The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC) is currently accepting applications for a Paid Temporary Part Time Transit Planning position in the transit division on behalf of the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA). The responsibilities of this position include onboard surveying of PVTA bus riders as part of the Northern System Customer Survey and involvement in discussions on survey progress and strategy.  Appropriate candidates include outgoing, ambitious, responsible, and reliable college students with an interest in the field of communications, statistics, opinion/political polling, transit, or transportation planning.

This internship will help you hone your communication skills to a diverse population by assisting PVTA with their quadrennial customer survey. PVPC will pay $18/hour for this position. Candidates will need to be available to work Mondays through Fridays and potentially some weekends with some flexibility from March 2025 – May 2025 and is dependent on project progress. This is a temporary position, and there are no fringe benefits associated with it, such as health insurance, paid vacation, or sick time.  Applicants must be comfortable traveling to locations in Hampshire County, be familiar with excel data entry, survey software and videoconferencing. Strong mobile devices and computer skills are desirable.
