The Lampson Brook Farm area of Belchertown (seen at right) is the focus of efforts to identify ways that the former Belchertown State School (BSS) farm may contribute to local food security and open space & park access that will benefit the community.

The Healthy Community Design Toolkit is an ongoing project of PVPC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health. It provides guidance about healthy community design to Mass in Motion coordinators, municipal staff and board members and local advocates across Massachusetts.

PVPC is collaborating with the Cooley Dickinson Hospital and the United Way of Hampshire County to assess patients access to services and recommend ways to improve access to services.

PVPC is collaborating with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the communities of Williamsburg and Springfield to conduct a Health Impact Assessment of select municipal recommendations of the Pioneer Valley Climate Action/Clean Energy Plan.

The goal of this study is to improve the efficiency of the regional transportation system to provide efficient access for all transportation modes to services and employment while encouraging development that enhances the livability of the Merrick and Memorial neighborhoods in West Springfield, M
