14 Sep 2021

Transportation consulting firm AECOM at the direction of PVPC and Greater Hartford’s Capital Region Council of Governments recently ran a new ridership analysis of the proposed East-West passenger rail project to integrate the existing Hartford line between New Haven and Springfield’s Union Station in a harmonized schedule that would include one-seat trips from Boston to New Haven, as well as platform transfers.

The findings suggest an over 50% increase in projected ridership compared to initial study figures.
