PVPC Annual Meeting to Spotlight Gateway Cities
The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission will hold its 45th Annual Meeting Thursday, June 7 at 6:00 p.m. at MassMutual Center in Springfield.
The program will focus on the recently released MassINC/Brookings Institution’s report on the Commonwealth’s 11 "Gateway Cities," including Springfield and Holyoke. Featured speakers will be John Schneider, Interim President of MassINC, and Mark Muro, Director of Policy of the Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program.
Regional Recognition Awards will be presented to honor individuals who have served the Pioneer Valley and its communities. In addition, the third annual Linda L. Petrella Springfield Summer Youth Internship Award will be announced to honor the legacy of the former Springfield Planning Director, continuing her generous commitment to mentoring the city’s youth.
PVPC officers and at-large Executive Committee members for 2007-2008 will be elected during the meeting.
