Citizen Planner Training Collaborative Workshop Scheduled

The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC) will sponsor a Citizen Planner Training Collaborative (CPTC) workshop Thursday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Northampton. The session will immediately follow PVPC’s commission meeting.

Catherine Miller, Principal Planner in Sustainability for PVPC, and Stuart Beckley, City Planner for Easthampton, will conduct a workshop on Creating Master Plans. The session is designed for planning, zoning, building, and conservation officials; municipal staff members who serve boards and planning departments; professional planners and others who consult with municipal boards; and citizens interested in land use and development issues in their communities.

The cost for this workshop and associated handout materials is $30. Advance registration is required by contacting CPTC at (413) 545-2188 or cptc-registration@comcast.net. For more information, visit CPTC’s website at www.umass.edu/masscptc. There is no charge for PVPC commissioners and alternate commissioners.

CPTC provides local planning and zoning officials with tools to make effective decisions regarding their communities’ current and future land use. CPTC trainers are professional planners and attorneys with substantial experience in their fields and as workshop presenters.
