West Springfield Public Workshop Scheduled

25 Apr 2014

April 25, 2014--West Springfield residents, business owners, and others are invited to provide input on recommended improvements to traffic circulation, sidewalks, economic development, and community character for the Merrick and Memorial neighborhoods, as well as redevelopment concepts at key locations within these neighborhoods, at a workshop on Wednesday, May 14, 6:00 p.m. at the Memorial Elementary School, 201 Norman Street. Recommended improvements and redevelopment concepts are based on input from a community meeting held April 9, along with other feedback.

This workshop will be jointly sponsored by the City of West Springfield and the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission. It is part of a planning process funded by a Transportation, Community, and System Preservation (TCSP) grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to address the relationships between transportation, community quality of life, and economic development. Refreshments will be provided.

For meeting information, contact Joseph Laplante, West Springfield Community Development Director, at (413) 263-3045, or Jayne Bernhard-Armington, PVPC Senior Planner, at (413) 781-6045.
