West Springfield Open Space and Recreation Plan Visioning Session Scheduled

13 Apr 2015

The Town of West Springfield is seeking public input and comment to develop town goals for open space and recreation. All residents are invited to a public visioning meeting Thursday, April 30, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in at the West Springfield Senior Citizen Center at 128 Park Street.

All meeting participants and residents unable to attend the meeting are asked to complete a questionnaire to identify open spaces and recreational activities important to them. The questionnaire is available through May 31 at the West Springfield City Hall, the West Springfield Public Library, and the West Springfield Senior Citizen Center, and can be returned to the same locations. Residents can also complete the questionnaire online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WestSpringfieldOSRP.

This planning effort is being undertaken to develop an updated West Springfield Open Space and Recreation Plan. Public comment is critically important to developing a plan that meets the needs of West Springfield’s residents for the next seven years, when the plan will be in effect.

The plan is being developed by the West Springfield Open Space and Recreation Update Committee with assistance from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission. Funding is provided by a FY15 District Local Technical Assistance Grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
