April 29, 2014--The Town of Palmer is seeking public comment to identify town goals for open space and recreation. All residents are invited to a public visioning meeting Tuesday, May 20, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in at the Community Room of the Palmer Public Library, 1455 N Main Street.
This planning effort is being undertaken to develop an updated Palmer Open Space and Recreation Plan. Public comment is critically important to developing a plan that meets the needs of Palmer’s residents.
All residents, whether or not they attend the meeting, are asked to complete a questionnaire to identify open spaces and recreational activities important to them. The questionnaire is available through June 10 at Palmer Town Administrative Building, Palmer Public Library, The Yellow House, Palmer Post Office, Thorndike Post Office, Three Rivers Post Office, Bondsville Post Office, and the Palmer Senior Center, and can be returned to the same locations. Residents can also complete the questionnaire online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PalmerOSRP2014.
The plan is being developed by the Palmer Open Space and Recreation Update Committee with assistance from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission. Funding is provided by a District Local Technical Assistance Grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
