BOSTON — The state Senate on Thursday will consider a controversial bill overhauling Massachusetts's zoning laws, which could affect housing development in Western Massachusetts.
"We want and need more young folks to want to look at the Pioneer Valley as a place to not just go to college and get a degree but come here, stay here, start a family here," said Timothy Brennan, executive director of the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, which supports the bill. "We need to offer them amenities and patterns of development that make it much more attractive."
