Casino Task Force

Mission Statement:

To assure that the economic, social and quality of life interests of communities within the Western Massachusetts Region are protected and all impacts resulting from the potential development of expanded gambling/gaming within the Region are recognized.

Objectives:

1. Assure that the Western Region communities are included in every step of the public policy process for expanded gambling/gaming development.

2. Assure that the state commits to funding a professional, comprehensive and unbiased study of the potential impacts, both positive and negative, expanded gambling/gaming in the Western Region communities.

3. Amend casino enabling legislation to guarantee that the Western Region communities receive adequate compensation for and mitigation of any negative impacts of expanded gambling/gaming development and operation.
