PVPC's Transportation section works to create and maintain a safe, dependable, environmentally sound transportation system that promotes liveable communities and the efficient movement of people and goods throughout the region. The Transportation section offers planning, analysis, and data collection services in a number of areas: traffic, transit, congestion management, bicycle/pedestrian planning, pavement management, and in-depth transportation studies.
Transportation section staff work with local, state, and federal agencies and private carriers on a wide array of projects, carrying out federally mandated planning activities on behalf of the region's 43 cities and towns using federal and state funds, and actively seeking competitive grants for specific tasks.
